Tricky Dick’s Texas Dall

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Dick Karnes from Denver Colorado came in over the Memorial Day weekend.  He’s hunted with us several times over the years and has become a very good friend of ours.  He started off his hunt at the Dos by harvesting a nice 90 pound meat hog in the early morning of the first day of his hunt.  After skinning his prize he told me he wanted a “nice big ram” to add to his collection.    That afternoon between thunderstorms he took a really nice Texas Dall with one well placed shot!  “Tricky Dick” as I call him was having an awesome day…until…he decided to go catch some Texas sized catfish in one of our ponds.  He was fishing the “T tank” and while he taking off a monster catfish and re-bating his hook, another fish came along and drug away his other pole!  We haven’t seen his pole since but he did limit out with one pole so all is well!  So, when you visit the Dos and see a fishing pole gliding around in the T-Tank pond…catch it!  It’s “Tricky Dick’s” pole and I know he’d like to have it back!

Here’s some pics of his awesome Texas Dall…Congrats Tricky Dick!  Looking forward to our elk hunt together!

and his Texas sized catfish!
