Another Nebraska Turkey Down!

Friday, April 27th, 2012

It was a great turkey hunting day yesterday! I had 8 birds walk within yards of me and heard them gobbling from every direction. What an exciting time! I’m definitely addicted to the challenge of turkey hunting!

Turkey Hunting Tip #7

Thursday, March 29th, 2012

Beware of predators. If the turkeys are not gobbling in an area and at a time when conditions for the birds are right, it could be due to predators in the vicinity. Test this option by staying still and calling every 30 minutes for 3 hours.

Turkey Hunting Tip #4

Friday, March 9th, 2012

If you are new to turkey hunting, start off with a friction call. Keep your calls simple until you become more experienced.

Turkey Hunting Tip #3…

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

Sorry I’m late with posting! Again!

#3: Be patient! Patience is critical when hunting turkey. After the turkey gobbles for a long period, it’s often quiet while it waits to make sure the situation is safe. That doesn’t mean it has left the area.

Mike completes his Grand Slam at the Dos!

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Congratulations!!!Mike and his wife Sara rolled into the Dos needing the Rio Grande Turkey to complete his Grand Slam. The pressure was on~started off the first day and a half with heavy winds which as anyone knows makes the gobblers have lock-jaw. Mike stuck with it and stayed with the advice we gave him and as good fortune would have it…bagged his bird the morning of the third day! It’s a good thing Sara is a nurse…he was so excited he almost needed to be sedated! LOL
Congrats Mike…awesome job! We feel privileged to be a part of your GRAND SLAM!!
God Bless! and btw…NOW you can talk! LOL!
