Turkey Hunting Tip #6

Friday, March 23rd, 2012

I have to add here that we sit on the front every morning for our coffee/devotional and listen to the turkey gobbling as they are coming off their roost. It’s just awesome to hear! I can’t wait for season to start….I must start practicing my calls!!

Tip #6….

Avoid hunting on a windy day. The turkeys can’t hear you call on a windy day, and they won’t gobble.

It’s Spring Turkey Time!

Friday, February 17th, 2012

Turkey season is just around the corner and we are VERY excited about offering turkey hunting at the Nebraska location. We can’t wait to get some pics posted!
We thought it would be a good time go over Allen’s turkey hunting tips that were featured in a Capital Farms magazine last year. I’ll post 1 tip every other day for a total of 7 tips. I hope you enjoy!

Turkey Hunting Tip #1:
Sit as still as possible. Turkeys are very wary of any movement.

Mike completes his Grand Slam at the Dos!

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Congratulations!!!Mike and his wife Sara rolled into the Dos needing the Rio Grande Turkey to complete his Grand Slam. The pressure was on~started off the first day and a half with heavy winds which as anyone knows makes the gobblers have lock-jaw. Mike stuck with it and stayed with the advice we gave him and as good fortune would have it…bagged his bird the morning of the third day! It’s a good thing Sara is a nurse…he was so excited he almost needed to be sedated! LOL
Congrats Mike…awesome job! We feel privileged to be a part of your GRAND SLAM!!
God Bless! and btw…NOW you can talk! LOL!

New Jersey Clint takes down a tough Texas wild hog…

Monday, February 15th, 2010

Clint’s hunted with us at the Dos a couple of times and he’s the most Southern Yankee I’ve ever met! lol…He made some long lasting memories when we put together a hog hunt with dogs for him. The dogs were in tune and downed this big wild piggy within 15 minutes! One well placed stick of the knife and he was one dead mudder! lol…
Lots of fun…great group of guys. Look forward to next time!
God bless….and take care boys!
